The Mentor and the Mentee

You should generally listen to your mentors.

When he tells you that you should quit your job and get a masters, he’s probably talking from experience.

When he tell you that your business model is stupid and that your marketing plan sucks, its probably because he knows a thing or two about failure.

When he tells you that you should spend a thousand dollars a month visiting Karachi, its because he’s managed remote teams himself.

That’s all good, BUT…

When he drags you to a 1970’s James Bond spoof, set in Egypt and filmed in French, you should have the good sense to sit outside the cinema, while he cracks up reading slapstick english subtitles inside.
